ArushaDay 1

Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport + Transfer to Arusha

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, meet your local team and travel to Arusha. The drive introduces you to the foothills and communities of northern Tanzania before you settle into Pazuri Inn. Depending on your flight time, enjoy a relaxed afternoon and prepare for the adventure ahead.

Your team will go through the route, departure arrangements and practical details, including luggage, meals and the equipment you will need close to hand. This is also the time to discuss your interests and any requirements that will help the journey run smoothly. Rest after your flight and keep the evening unhurried.

Arusha National ParkDay 2

Walking Safari in Arusha National Park

Enter Arusha National Park for a walking experience accompanied according to the park’s ranger and guide requirements. Exploring on foot shifts the focus toward tracks, vegetation, smaller details and the sounds around you. Your guide and ranger determine the route and maintain the appropriate distance from wildlife.

Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water, sun protection and a light rain layer. The outing is paced around the terrain, conditions and the group, with breaks during the day. After the park visit, return to Pazuri Inn in Arusha for the evening. This first active safari day introduces the walking theme before the journey continues toward Tarangire.

Tarangire National ParkDay 3

Tarangire National Park

Discover Tarangire’s baobab landscapes, river country and woodland on a guided game drive. Your driver-guide selects tracks according to access and the day’s wildlife activity, with time to observe animals and enjoy the setting. Elephants are closely associated with the park, although every sighting remains a natural, unpredictable encounter.

Take a break for lunch and continue exploring as the day’s schedule allows. On a full park day, return to the accommodation shown in your itinerary; when the route includes a transfer to Karatu or back to Arusha, your guide will balance wildlife viewing with the onward drive. Enjoy the changing scenery throughout the journey.

Mto wa MbuDay 4

Mto wa Mbu Village Walk + Local Lunch + Forest Hike

Explore Mto wa Mbu on foot with a local guide, discovering the inhabited landscape and everyday activity beneath the Rift Valley escarpment. The village walk provides a change of rhythm after the game drives and a chance to understand the place through the people and paths that shape it.

Enjoy the local lunch listed in your itinerary before continuing with a forest hike appropriate to the day’s conditions. The guide will explain the walking route, practical arrangements and respectful approach to meeting local hosts. Finish at Jungle Pearl Resort, where you can rest and prepare for the onward journey toward the Serengeti.

SerengetiDay 5

Serengeti National Park

Explore the Serengeti with your driver-guide, following the most suitable game-viewing areas for the season and the day’s conditions. The landscape includes open plains, rocky outcrops and woodland, each offering a different setting for wildlife observation. Spend time watching behaviour and enjoying the scenery rather than simply moving between sightings.

The day’s rhythm balances driving, breaks and meals with the distances involved in your itinerary. On arrival days, the journey into the park forms part of the experience; full days allow more time in the wildlife areas. Your guide will explain the plan and the return to the accommodation listed for this particular night.

SerengetiDay 6

Walking Safari in Serengeti National Park

Experience the Serengeti from ground level on a guided walking safari arranged under the park’s applicable access and ranger requirements. The walk focuses on the details that can be missed from a vehicle: footprints, plants, insects, sounds and the way the landscape fits together. Your guide and ranger set the route and pace.

Walking arrangements depend on the approved area, wildlife conditions and local guidance, so the programme remains responsive to the day. Keep to the briefing and instructions throughout the outing. Return to The Whisper Serengeti for meals and rest, with any additional vehicle exploration arranged around the walking programme.

Ngorongoro Conservation AreaDay 7

Ngorongoro Crater

Travel to Ngorongoro and descend into the crater when the entry arrangements are complete. Explore the caldera floor with your driver-guide, moving between its grasslands, water and wooded areas while watching for wildlife. The enclosed landscape gives this safari day a different character from the Serengeti plains.

Allow time for a meal break and for observing the animals you encounter without rushing. Sightings depend on the day and cannot be guaranteed. After the permitted crater visit, ascend to the rim and continue toward Karatu and Mamadunia Safari Lodge. The timing is planned around the drive, park arrangements and the onward itinerary.

ArushaDay 8

Departure from Kilimanjaro International Airport

Today brings your itinerary to a close with a transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport. Your team will agree the collection time around your confirmed flight, allowing time for the road journey, check-in and airport formalities. Keep your passport, travel documents, valuables and any medication with you rather than in luggage you cannot easily reach.

If your flight leaves later in the day, discuss how much free time is practical before departure. Any extra excursions, additional meals, day rooms or onward travel arrangements should be agreed separately. Leave with time to reflect on the landscapes and experiences of your Tanzania adventure.

Thoughtfully planned. Personally yours.
